Potential
of 10 Credits
Prerequisite: Fitness and Performance 3, Application,
and Interview
Advanced Fitness and Performance Coaching is a course that requires successful completion of (at minimum) Fitness and Performance 3, submission and successful acceptance of an application for program consideration, and an interview with the program director.
Students
successfully enrolled in this course will take their knowledge and ability
levels to assess, coach and correct training movement patterns to the next
level through a practicum approach within the LCI training environment. There
is also the potential for off-campus enrichment placements.
Individuals enrolled in Advanced Fitness and Performance Coaching will not participate in training
activities as a trainee, but rather as the trainer. Student coaches will have hands-on trainer assignments, utilize technology to study and correct movement patterns of individuals, and begin learning how to manage both individual and group exercise classes.
For individuals looking to pursue a career in the fitness industry, this is a rare and unique opportunity at the high school level. Space is limited, so those wanting to be considered for this elite course should apply early.
