Program Director/Head Coach: Mr. Cory Gillespie

I began training 31 years ago and still have a love for all types and methods of training today.  I have trained using a variety of disciplines, styles and systems, all the while utilizing nutrition plans specific to each, in order to achieve the current goal at that time. I have been an athlete competing at the National level in Powerlifting winning a National Championship in 2004 (1964 total 873 Squat/420 Bench/671 Deadlift), Internationally in Strongman and amateur level CrossFit.  I have since retired from active competition and spend my time coaching and guiding individuals looking to make a change and learn the amazing things physical training can do for them.

In my time as an athlete and a coach, I have been fortunate enough to cross paths and train with some of the best strength coaches and athletes the world has to offer.  I believe that fitness is a lifelong journey that can be achieved by anyone wishing to pursue it. One of the greatest things in the world is sharing in the successes of people on that journey.  I believe that training is more than just physical and has significant benefits mentally, emotionally and spiritually that transfer to everyday life.

My passion for training started in 2012 during my final year of high school, and it quickly became a lifelong commitment. Over the years, I’ve explored powerlifting, bodybuilding, mobility work, and CrossFit, always chasing new knowledge and growth. I worked full-time as a certified personal trainer, running my own business—Forever Strong Fitness—where I coached a wide range of clients, including high-performance athletes.

What truly fuels my path into teaching is working with high school students. Many of the athletes I coached wanted off-season training but couldn’t afford private coaching. As a result I volunteered to assist in a high school sports performance program. That moment changed everything!

I completed the Exercise Science program at Lethbridge College and began my degrees in Kinesiology and Education at the University of Lethbridge. My goal has always been to make quality training accessible to youth and to use movement as a tool for growth—physically, mentally, and personally.
