ZZZZZzzzzzZzZzZzZz

Lets talk a little about sleep and how on the average most people do not get enough. It seems that the number of hours in a day is never enough to get done what it is we need to get done. The pursuit of the elusive Canadian dream (suburb, white picket fence, nice car...) has taken front seat to all other things of value and importance; primarily our health. In order to pursue this, and maintain some type of social life with family and friends, many people have added time to their day by getting less sleep. In essence we have lost control of one of the basic neccesities needed for us to stay healthy. Most of you who have started at Conquest have made a step in the direction of taking some of that life back! Your body thanks you for the addition of exercise to your life. Increased energy, increased oxygen exchange, increased feeling of well being (despite the soreness). However, with the addition of this exercise and the same amount of rest happening what your body is starting to say to you is "man am I tired". Most of your growing is going to occur at nighttime when your body is at rest and all it needs to do is repair the damage that you have inflicted on it. Once the body reaches a REM sleep zone the body responds by releasing growth hormone. The growth hormones primary job at this point in time is regeneration. If you get enough sleep, the body will respond by compounding the positive effects of the exercise that you are doing. .....not to mention put you in a better mood. Try to focus on getting 8 hours of sleep whenever possible. If not possible then try adding an extra 1/2 - 1 hour and see if this helps.
