Inspiration can be defined simply as something which stimulates or animates; stimulus; motivation. Inspiration is all around us and can be derived from a variety of sources. It differs from person to person, but the common thread still exists that it provokes an emotional response and a source of motivation to accomplish a task. Many people have asked me the question over the years as to why I do what I do after school for staff and students. Not just why, but more often than not why do I do it for free. The answer is not all that complicated and was right in front of me today. Mr. Dumont is why I wish to share the knowledge and experinces that I have and do it for free. He is an individual who is trying to make a difference in his life, which in turn makes a difference in someone elses and ripples out from there. To see and talk to him today is the inspiration I need to continue to do what I do and love every minute of it. To look over and see him pour his heart out into his workout, to fight his mind in order to conquer his body. It is easy to quit, but to see him perservere and continue on the path he has set for himself is something we can all learn from, draw inspiration from and be motivated by. Alain Dumont I salute you, you are my inspiration!
For those of you new to us, we have a thing called the hopper. The hopper is a random pull of exercises labeled on ping pong balls from a bucket of dino-pops (no you don't get to have a sucker when you choose an exercise). Tommorow the first 3 people to come will choose 1 ball each of which the exercises for tommorows work up will be made up of. We may see new movements to learn, old movements to review or .........aaaaahhhhh the good 'ol hopper. So come join the fun and see what you have in store for you tommorow.
