Today everyone gets an introduction to the Turkish Get Up. It is Haydens birthday today, so I will not be there to help with the coaching, but I have attached some videos below that walk through the process of doing a TGU. Our Wednesday Coach Checkley will be there to help with questions and any of our long standing Conquest members can aid in learning/performing the movement. TGU's are one of the most difficult and challenging movements that we will perform at Conquest. They require full body strength! We will work your entire body with the execution of this skill. Shoulders, abs, back, legs, the list goes on. So what is a TGU? To make it as simple as possible you will lie flat on your back holding a dumbbell perpendicular to the ground and try to stand up without allowing the Dbell to leave that plane. The videos go through the form step by step, so try and watch them to lend Doug a hand and familiarize yourself with the movement mechanics. Each video is about 3 minutes long and builds on the previous video.
