On the note of this weeks team wods it is important to make reference to someone who is truly a team player. It is always difficult to be a man on the side, especially when all you want to do is be the man in the game. Injuries, illnesses and plain old bad luck sometimes fall in our lap and it is how we deal with these in our training that determines what type of moral fiber and character we are made of. It shows what we are willing to give to the team, because Conquest is a team. We lean on each other in times of need and support each other when the going gets tough. We teach each other, help each other and encourage each other to be the best we can be. Team players do not wait to see what it is people are willing to do for them, but rather seek out a niche and a method to help, regardless of injury or illness. They understand that it is more than about them, but rather about everyone. It is because of this that we tip our hats and salute Bruce Carbert. Bruce has put in a ton of time helping with teaching movements, supporting and welcoming new comers and timing WODs. Despite his current limitations Bruce has been there for the team without any expectation of anything in return. We expect to see him in full swing by the end of the year and I can't wait to see him start training again.
