The Purity of Movement


One of the greatest things about functional exercise is that it comes naturally. Functional exercise is based on regular functional human movement and as such allows us to move the way we naturally would in space. No machines to fix us into a path that anatomically and biomechanically might not fit our own specific body. Free movement feels good and because it is natural comes to us easily. After a period of time the body will adapt to become the most efficient it possibly can for the movements required.....almost like a robot. When a person gets to this level exercise can be the greatest form of expression, emotion and stress relief ever. The movements just flow with little to no thought and you are just left alone in the moment. Does it burn sometimes? Yes! Is it hard other times? Of course! What remains constant though is the ability to move forward and do so with little intrusion from outside influences in life. It is because of this that exercise is pure and enjoyable. Not sure if that makes sense to everyone, but one day if it doesn't already and you stay with it...it will.
